Ball Moss Management

Dream Image Tree & Landscape Service is a specialist in Ball Moss management.  We can help you manage the epiphytes that grow on the branches of trees and bushes.  Native Texas Ball Moss is a non-parasitic plant that lives on other plants. While it does attach itself to the bark of trees, it derives no nutrients from the tree. It is not pretty and can be harmful to trees.

Limbs that are heavily infested with Ball Moss can break off due to the added weight. These balls generally form thick clumps in the lower limbs of live oaks depriving trees of sunlight and can make for an unsightly tree that looks very unhealthy.

Dream Image Tree & Landscape Service sprays a baking-soda based treatment on your trees and shrubs. The spray dries out the Ball Moss until it dies and is not harmful to the trees. The dead Ball Moss may hang on the tree or fall off naturally.  We also prune the dead and broken limbs off effectively remove 60 to 75% of the existing Ball Moss, making your yard look more open and helping the trees health.
